We have a passion for midwives and the families they attend. It's personal for us. So far, eight of our 14 grandchildren have been attended by amazing midwives. We found we could take our 21 years of medical billing experience and help our children by billing their insurance for reimbursement for their out of pocket expense.
If you are a midwife looking to partner with us, click Midwifery Billing for more information. Midwife's families, read on.
We understand that home births and birth center services are becoming an increasingly important part of maternity care and most insurance’s will not contract directly with independent midwives. That’s why we offer our patient advocate services to assist you in navigating your insurance with a benefit check, GAP exception, insurance billing and the appeals process to help maximize your insurance reimbursement. We have simplified the process for your midwife to alleviate the administrative burden to help them concentrate on what’s most important, your family.
If you are looking for help to see if your midwife and/or birth center is covered by your insurance and if so, what type of reimbursement you can expect, look no further - we can help with that.
If baby hasn't arrived yet, we do require you start with our benefit check. It is no longer an option and here is why. Not only does it ensure you have the most up to date information, there is important information we need to obtain from your insurance to ensure your claims are processed correctly. It also gives you a reference to use, should your insurance process your claims incorrectly or deny your claims.
Even if you know your insurance will cover MIDWIFERY CARE, have a good idea how much your insurance will reimburse you and have obtained a GAP EXCEPTION, this information needs to be tied together properly through the Provider Services Department for successful claim submission. Remember, insurances are not in the business to pay claims and billing blindly can lead to a delay in your reimbursement. **EXCEPTION - if your baby has been born and you choose not to have a Benefit Check.
ALL SERVICES require the following four forms to be completed and signed and turned into us to start the process.
Please download our forms.
ALSO, SEND US FRONT AND BACK COPY OF YOUR INSURANCE CARD.
You may contact us with questions about our services at firstname.lastname@example.org but remember, in order for us to answer specific questions about your benefits and what your insurance will cover, please download our forms and get them back to us as soon as possible so we can began advocating for you today.
Once we receive and process your forms you will receive an invoice via email for the services you have chosen. You will have the option to pay by credit card or e-check, whichever is most convenient for you.
What some of our clients have to say:
“Thank you so much for all of your hard work on our claims, your diligence resulted in a reimbursement that was almost equal to 100% of our bills. Your communication throughout the process was fantastic and we couldn’t be happier to have worked with you. Thank you so much, you far exceeded our expectations!”
Sincerely, The Vieiras
“Thanks so much for all of your help all throughout. I’ve had a wonderful experience with MEDELECT as my biller.”
Sincerely, Vanessa Martinez
"If you're working with a midwife and have questions about coverage, I would strongly recommend working with MEDELECT. Their team is not just professional and approachable; they're also really there to help you navigate these somewhat unfamiliar waters. Though I unfortunately learned that my insurance will not provide any coverage, I know that MEDELECT exhausted the possibilities and fought on my behalf for that coverage. They may not be able to win every battle, but they sure know how to fight for you!"
Best, Tali Jaffe
