I think every life has a why, what, when and how.
When I first started this company 18 years ago, my "why" was being able to stay at home with my daughter and still help provide for our family. My daughter is now grown with kids of her own. In 2008, I found I had to dig deep to figure out my next, "Why". Why do I get up in the morning, why do I go to the office every day and help our clients? What motivates me? As any business owner knows, it can be hard "making the donuts" every day. You have to be passionate about your Why and your What, How and When will follow.
What I discovered when I really looked deep within is I have a passion for women's healing. Not just physical health, although that is the obvious but for overall healing - mind, body, spirit and emotions. I have come through an amazing healing journey of my own and one of the things that has always kept me going, my - "Why I get up every morning" - so to speak, is to help other women who need healing - to give back to women ways in which I have found healing and wellness.
One of my biggest missions is to build a Women's Healing & Wellness Center in my community. I want it to a be a place of true healing. A place where the providers inside understand you have to treat the whole person and who seek the root of any health issue in order to facilitate true healing. Freedom, really. I believe in the root to fruit lifestyle. You can judge anyone or anything by its fruit, good or bad. If its good fruit then you know its a healthy root system but if the fruit is bad or there is no fruit at all, you have to get to the root of the issue. Heal the root, produce the good fruit.
From this Healing & Wellness Center I would like to expand and create a Healing & Wellness Plan for small businesses and communities. One that allows small businesses and/or communities to pool their resources and contract directly with providers in order to provide better healthcare for their employees. A Healthcare System with a healthy root system.
From these two, I would love to build a school in which we can teach women skills to work within the healthcare system - medical billing and medical office administration. This would allow us to offer internship programs to women who need to have a way to financially support themselves and their families. Women who need to find a way out and a way up. If a woman can take care of herself and her family financially, she can begin to break unhealthy ties, habits, strongholds and be truly set free.
It would also tie together the last of my mission, which is to partner with organizations around the world whose mission it is to foster true healing in women.
Lastly, we could continue to build on the what, why, how and when that really what drives me. To give back. To help women heal. To have the means to be a philanthropic organization and continue to support other great organizations around the world with the same mission.
Every day. Every day, I get up and I come to work and I work as if I am working for the Lord. I give all that I can in hopes my labor will bear good fruit for our clients, my staff, my family and myself.
If you can relate to this in any way, send me a message at our contact us page. I would love to hear from you.
